When You Lose Your Needles

I’m working away at my bag jump Ravellenic Game challenge.  It’s almost large enough to start the edging, but not quite.  My biggest obstacle at the moment is that I seem to favor size 8 needles, which means all of my circular needles are in use elsewhere – specifically in one project, my stash busting domino afghan that I’ve slowly been working on (and for some reason have not photographed or written about it).

All of my stitches are getting squished together on double-pointed needles as I work around and around. I am getting more and more worried that I’ll be dropping stitches soon, but I’m almost ready to decrease again, so maybe I’ll be alright.

I really like the pop of green against in the purple berry tones.  I wonder how dramatic it is going to be once the bag is felted.  The shift between the two shades of purple is not as dramatic as I was expecting, so we’ll see.  I’ve decided to try out a zipper closure instead of a button or snap.  I don’t work with zippers much, so this will be a better challenge – stick with me as I push myself over the edge.

Besides the needle obstacle, it’s been a fun, interesting, and quick project (she says before daring the zipper to a duel).  I can’t wait to type it up and offer it to the world!

Oops! My Apologies!

Well, it happens.  And as a fledgling designer, I have to shrug and accept it, change the mistake, and move on.

An error was found in the Little Witch’s Cap pattern.  I have since corrected it, revamped the layout, and updated the download link.

It’s a lot of work to go through my sales history and find out who has purchased the pattern since it was released, so let me know if you need the updated pattern!

It’s one of those things you have to take in stride.  Errors happen, and I am no math whiz, so they are bound to happen for me.  This pattern was released before I discovered the awesomeness of test knitters.  I am slowly working through my old patterns and having them refreshed and tested to make sure errors are fixed if they exist.  I do appreciate all of the kindness and patience from my peers.  Mistakes happen, that’s embarrassing enough for me, so telling me gently instead of getting upset (while I know having to stop in the middle of a project because Row 25 doesn’t make sense is frustrating!) is wonderful.  I promise to fix it as quickly as possible.

By the way, it’s available for download from this blog (go to the “patterns” page), Ravelry, and Etsy.  And remember, now through Halloween, my “costume” patterns are a whopping 25% off! No coupon needed.

Also, show me your Halloween costumes in my Rav Group!

Tonight kicks off the start of my Halloween celebrations! I will try to upload photos of my costumes when I get a chance. I was up past midnight last night working on the one for tonight’s Blues dancing bash!

Tiny Houses

This weekend involved loads and loads of laundry.  Ellette and I went through her closet and dresser and got rid of loads of stuff that she doesn’t want or doesn’t fit, and everything else went through the wash.  (I recently discovered a cup of fermenting apple cider in her room, and the fear of little critters nesting about meant that her room has been ripped to shreds in the name of sanitation).

Laundry means that the dozens of knitted things destined for felting went through the wash several times, including a new item I’ve been working on:

The one in back is too short and wide for my taste, so this morning I hunted for my needle felting supplies and started decorating it.  I wanted to know how difficult/long it would be to decorate so I can judge my remaining 7 weeks (yikes!) wisely.

Ellette even helped!  She made half of the butterfly on the roof.  I think I have to get her her own kit so I can have full use of mine.

Ellette is keeping this one, for which she was so grateful she picked me a bouquet of flowers this afternoon.  And I am set to work making dozens more.  *sigh*
