Oops! My Apologies!

Well, it happens.  And as a fledgling designer, I have to shrug and accept it, change the mistake, and move on.

An error was found in the Little Witch’s Cap pattern.  I have since corrected it, revamped the layout, and updated the download link.

It’s a lot of work to go through my sales history and find out who has purchased the pattern since it was released, so let me know if you need the updated pattern!

It’s one of those things you have to take in stride.  Errors happen, and I am no math whiz, so they are bound to happen for me.  This pattern was released before I discovered the awesomeness of test knitters.  I am slowly working through my old patterns and having them refreshed and tested to make sure errors are fixed if they exist.  I do appreciate all of the kindness and patience from my peers.  Mistakes happen, that’s embarrassing enough for me, so telling me gently instead of getting upset (while I know having to stop in the middle of a project because Row 25 doesn’t make sense is frustrating!) is wonderful.  I promise to fix it as quickly as possible.

By the way, it’s available for download from this blog (go to the “patterns” page), Ravelry, and Etsy.  And remember, now through Halloween, my “costume” patterns are a whopping 25% off! No coupon needed.

Also, show me your Halloween costumes in my Rav Group!

Tonight kicks off the start of my Halloween celebrations! I will try to upload photos of my costumes when I get a chance. I was up past midnight last night working on the one for tonight’s Blues dancing bash!

Allergies, Cats, and Hats

A hard week (and weekend) left me sitting on the kitchen counter at midnight while consuming between myself and my roommate two bottles of wine as our aggravated minds took us all over the realms of reality and fantasy before bringing us back into our house.  Slightly inebriated from alcohol and rather drunk from hopes and frustrations, we two hatched a plan before heading off to bed.  I was a little too restless to sleep, so I paced the house a bit before sitting on the couch, pulling the blanket over me, and falling asleep.

This morning I woke up and remembered that, while I do love our fiendish feline, I tend to be rather allergic to cats.  I am mostly ok so long as I do not lay with my face in their fur.  Unfortunately, there was a cat’s worth of fur covering the couch, which I had been inhaling all through the night.  I woke up with a very sore throat and incredible congestion.  I have taken to drinking hot water with lemon and cloves to sooth the discomfort.

This all results in me being a little too weak, distracted, and unable to work on things that need to be worked on.

This weekend, however, I did manage to knock out all of the top hats that needed doing.

Done and Done.

This afternoon, all that I have accomplished thus far is to finish up the tiny witch’s caps I had going.

My fingertips are sore from the putting of pins through fabric all weekend.  It hurts even to knit, but I persist.  Although, there is an increasing chance that I will not be able to attend the festival this coming weekend as my contact are being very un-contactly and not providing me with information that is vital to  my being there.

Stress levels rising.  Duck and Cover.

Random Friday

  • Let me begin by apologizing for the lack of creativity in this post, as it is, afterall, my blogversary, and my first at that.  It should be something amazing, profound, inspiring – and instead I am completely lacking all of that at the moment.
  • It has been a rough month for me.  Rather than having time to relax and collect myself, I am rushing around like a chicken.  I keep making promises, forgetting that I made them, and then at the last minute remembering what they were and scrambling to make up for it.
  • I also have a lot of thing I wish I could do, and simply don’t have time for.
  • For instance, I keep telling friends that I still have top hats available (which, I have neglected to put on Etsy like I’ve been meaning to), so here is a small parade of the hats I have available.  Click to see in full detail.

  • It may yet be a while before I can sit down and upload all of them to Etsy, but if you see one you like, please let me know and I will make sure to make a listing for it so you can purchase it straight away.
  • The Doctor Who scarf is 73% complete.
  • I feel like it has consumed my soul and that is all I can work on.
  • I am also only watching Doctor Who right now.  Per recommendation, I started with the new version (halfway through Season 2) and have been getting a better idea of the character behind the scarf.
  • I fully understand that I will not entirely grasp the character (if I can even hope to fully grasp this character) until I graduate to the original version of the series.
  • Either way, I think I’m hooked.
  • I received yarn in the mail today that had no hope of diverting my attention.

  • This is going to be come a scarf for my grandfather’s birthday next month.  I am still designing the scarf in my head.  I really should get on that, since it’s only three weeks away.
  • I know it’s a bad sign when my inner Knitter tries to convince my brain that three weeks is plenty of time.
  • It’s not.
  • Ellette’s poor socks have not been worked on all week.  I seem to have finished the heel and just now have to work to the toe and finish it, and one will be complete, but I keep putting it off.
  • I even took it with me today to try to work on it more and that plan failed.
  • I also managed to take some decent (ish) photos of my new pattern:

  • A Little Witch’s hat.  awesome.  It’s attached to a headband that sits wonderfully and doesn’t pinch, but you could attach it any way you want – clips, ribbon, etc.  I chose not to decorate mine, but that doesn’t mean you should refrain from adding flowers, tulle, ribbon and the like.
  • I just need to update the file and this pattern will be available through Etsy tomorrow.
  • Cross my Heart
  • No really, I am trying to get more on top of things, and I know how perfect this hat will be for Halloween.  Tomorrow.
  • I have also started a new sweater thing,  My own pattern.  I’m about halfway through now.  I will have photos for you soon.
  • Thanks for reading!  This past year has been quite a whirlwind.
